Janie O'Brien, MA, LPCC-S
Hello, I’m Janie O’Brien. I am a licensed therapist and have worked in the Cincinnati area for over 10 years. I received my Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Dayton. I work with primarily adults and teenagers to address a variety of needs including mood and anxiety disorders, substance abuse struggles, trauma history, and behavioral or relationship difficulties related to these. My approach is best described as person-centered, compassionate, and flexible. I believe connection and a sense of humor are critical to the therapeutic process and I most commonly use interventions rooted in Cognitive Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I am a Cincinnati native and mother of two boys. My spare time is devoted to building forts, playing make believe, and ultimately just enjoying all the wonderful silliness of my kids. My husband teases me for having no hobbies, but the truth is I enjoy spending all the time I have connecting with people whether that’s in the office, with my lifelong friends, or with my children.
